  10. What does JLUTIL do?
  11.  
  12. With a few words:  JLUTIL is a GT Companion (all versions !!!), which
  13. monitors the levels of the users, inspects the LogFile, deletes messages,
  14. changes attributes, validates messages, handles mailinglists, allows you
  15. to search for users, incorporates a MailBox Control System, which answers
  16. your mail, gives other sysops informations about your system (eg. which
  17. files you have ready for download) via NetMail, involves Utilities to
  18. changes a variable within a file like GT.CNF easily, handles Door-Files
  19. for other programs, makes analyses, cleans LogFiles etc.

  43. [ ]  3. Error #23 explains now better, why THE JL's are not able to open a file.
  44.         In the past many newcomers were not able to solve the problem, why this
  45.         error occurs. Now THE JL's are saying, if they can't find the file, if
  46.         the path is invalid, etc. I hope that this new and detailed feature will
  47.         help the newcomers to install THE JL's.

  49. [ ]  4. JL.MSG will be copied onto the heap. This makes THE JL's faster.

  51. [ ]  5. A new general parameter is available: /!003
  52.         If you use this parameter, THE JL's skip reading GTUSER.BBS. They
  53.         get the actual user from SA= in JL.CNF and give him level [0] and the
  54.         authorization [SY].

  57.         are explained in GENERAL.HLP.

  62.         then the filename, which contains this message, will be written into

  66.         JLPATH is the current directory and writes into JL.LOG, that the
  67.         user should specify SET JLPATH= in his AUTOEXEC.BAT.

  71. [ ] 11. The StringToNumber (StrToInt & StrToExt) Functions will not terminate
  72.         nor display a error-message, if JLUTIL tries to convert a none-number
  73.         string to a number. It will set the number to 0 and will write a
  74.         message into JL.LOG.

  76. [ ] 12. If THE JL's detect an error, they will switch on the cursor before
  77.         going to DOS.

  79. [ ] 13. The IL N option can handle from now within the MONEY01.@JL file two
  80.         different rates for outgoing (2.field) and incoming (3.field) calls
  81.         delimited with an ','. The report to the sysop has a status line for
  82.         outgoing (SC: Status of CONNECTS) and one for incoming (SA: Status of
  83.         ANSWERS) calls.

  86.         MMR Pointer POS?????.MM0 and the file USER_MSG.CTL. BETA code !!!

  88. [R] 15. The options RM, CM, CA and VM have a new switch. It is -z. With
  89.         it, you will get the normal display, without it, you will get the
  90.         enhanced control panel.

  92. [ ] 16. The option CM has a new switch. It is -s. If you specify this switch,
  93.         all private, not-received, no-netmail messages, which sender is
  94.         unknown, will be killed.

  96. [R] 17. Using the options RM, CM, CA and VM you can specify '*' as MsgArea.
  97.         If you do this, THE JL's will scan all MsgAreas, which can be stopped
  98.         by hitting any key.

  100. [ ] 18. The ControlFiles of JLBANK JLMAIL.CTL and JLMESSAG.CTL have been
  101.         renamed to JLBANK.CTL and JLREMIT.CTL. These two new files have
  102.         another structure than the old control files. There is no possibility
  103.         to transport the old control files to the new ones. There is a new
  104.         directory in JL.CNF. It is BP=, the homedirectory of JLBANK.

  106. [ ] 19. The options RM, CM, CA and VM can handle MESSAGE.CTL files
  107.         with an undelimited number of records.

  109. [ ] 20. JLBANK has been enhanced dramatically.

  111. [ ] 21. GC handles now the /DATE command within commandfiles.

  113. [ ] 22. JL.MSG has been renamed. JL[version].MSG. THE JL's 4.75 are
  114.         using JL475.MSG. This makes it more comfortable to use
  115.         JLUTIL, JLBANK and JLPLOT, which have different versions.

  117. [ ] 23. A bug within /IL N -SN has been fixed.

  119. [ ] 24. IL N -SN has been enhanced. IL has a new parameter: U and a new
  120.         switch -B. Read IL.HLP for more informations.

  122. [ ] 25. THE JL's check, if you have EMS. If you have enough EMS, THE JL's
  123.         will copy the overlay file to EMS. This makes handling the overlay
  124.         faster.

  126. [ ] 26. /!004 is new. Normally THE JL's will try to use EMS and if you have
  127.         none or to less, they will not use it. If you specify /!004, THE JL's
  128.         will not try to use EMS.
